I have completely neglected blogging this year. A lot of stuff has been thrown at me & I haven’t had the brain power to come up with anything to write about. I haven’t been inspired, I have been stuck, but a lot of things have happened so far in 2016. I do have something to say.

So far in 2016 I have had a really important friendship come to an end, a lot of ups and downs with my health, moved to our first real place together, had a lot of bad days, but also a lot of really good days, and I have really grown a lot. I have applied to return to school in the fall to finally pursue my dream of becoming a nurse! I couldn’t have made it without Steed, my bad a, fiancé, my few close friends, my loving mother, & my best friend/dog, Boomer.

That being said, I want to focus on the good. 

There is a lot to be said for focus on the positivity, and “fake it ’til you make it”, & all of those fun cliches about bringing happiness into your life.”Creating your own reality.” Sometimes it literally feels impossible to force myself into positive thinking, sometimes it is impossible. I take it with baby steps. Anything is overwhelming if you come at it with an all or nothing view, but as Kimmy Schmidt says, you can do ANYTHING for ten seconds. I have totally been applying this to my daily life. Can I think about positive things for ten seconds? Then ten more seconds? Can I do the same with cleaning out my closet, doing the dishes, exercising, writing, blogging, reading? Yes. I can, and it works! The IDEA of doing a lot of the tasks of daily life is so much scarier than actually doing something. Life can be SO overwhelming. The to do list can seem never ending. I am really, really striving to be a more positive person this year, to look at life from a more colorful place. It hasn’t been easy, but, ten seconds at a time, (being engaged to the most positive person I know helps a lot too) I think I can do it.
